|The British Council for Offices (BCO) has shortlisted The Loom for the Refurbished/Recycled Workplace Regional London and South East category.
One of the BCO's primary objectives is to define excellence in office space, and as part of this objective its annual awards programme provides public recognition for top quality design and functionality and a benchmark for excellence in workplaces. Established in 1992, the programme acknowledges innovation and focuses external attention on examples of best practice, which attracts competition year-on-year.
Housed in one of London’s few remaining Victorian wool warehouses, The Loom has been completely reimagined by an expert project team using specialist craftsmanship to meet the requirements of a modern commercial building in London.
The design embraces and celebrates the building’s warehouse heritage while providing 110,000 sq ft of modern workspace that befits one of London’s most diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods. With a new public street linking The Loom to the community, reception, dedicated art space and café, the building allows entrepreneurs, innovators and creative minds to come together, be inspired and make history in one collaborative environment.
This is an outstanding achievement made possible by a highly-skilled project team that thrived on collaboration and passion for a unique commercial space in the heart of London.
Winners will be announced at the London and South East Awards Lunch on 25 April 2017
